Terra mix440 - IP to 4xDVB-T Transmodulator

TERRA mix440  transmodulator converts IP stream (TSoIP) to DVB-T COFDM standard. The IP stream is provided to the transmodulator in UDP/RTP protocols (unicast/multicast SPTS and MPTS transmissions) and RTSP stream (from IP cameras) and modulated to DVB-T COFDM standard. One mix440 equipment receives IP stream with a bitrate of up to 200 Mbps and creates 4 freely configurable four neighboring DVB-T multiplexes, each with maximum bit rate up to 31.66 Mbps (the limit is determined by the DVB-T standard). In practice, each of the four multiplexes can carry 6 SD channels or 2-3 HD channels. The administrator of the system selects the required channels from the IP stream and forms the four DVB-T MUXes. In each case, it is necessary to remember about 10% safety margin when determining the maximum bitrate for the whole multiplex (typically the ultimate bitrate of a multiplex should not exceed 29 Mbps). The output DVB-T COFDM multiplexes are usually distributed to hotel/motel rooms by a passive network comprising of RF splitters, coaxial cable and amplifiers. Such a solution is especially convenient in modern hotel TV systems distributing a variety of satellite channels, or other multimedia content including HD content.

Thanks to RJ-45 Ethernet port, the programming of the mix440 transmodulator is performed via a web browser (no need for a special programmer).

Key Features

  • conversion of IP stream (TSoIP) provided in UDP/RTP protocols (unicast/multicast SPTS and MPTS transmissions) to DVB-T COFDM standard
  • reception of IP stream with a bitrate of up to 200 Mbps and conversion of this stream into freely configured four neighboring DVB-T multiplexes (MUXes)
  • injection of signals from IP cameras (H.264/H.265) into TV distribution system
  • each of the four DVB-T MUXes can have maximum bitrate up to 31.66 Mbps
  • the administrator can select the output channels and filter services in digital streams
  • easy integration with IPTV streamers that enable management and distribution of satellite, terrestrial and CATV channels within Ethernet (LAN) networks
  • USB port allowing for playing materials provided in .ts format
  • easy management and control via RJ-45 port simplifies installation procedure
  • management an control via the Ethernet network
  • event history (logs)
  • AGC function

Seamless Integration

The transmodulator can integrate seamlessly with other Terra professional TV equipment such as:

  • media converters, which are used for transmission of IP signals via fiber-optic medium
  • IPTV streamers, which are used for management and distribution of satellite, terrestrial and cable DVB television channels within Ethernet (LAN) networks based on twisted-pair cabling
  • IP cameras - injection of H.264/H.265 signals into TV distribution system without a need for additional DVB-T modulators
